Isaiah 45 tells about idolaters, who follow after false gods.  And then we have this astounding verse.

"For this is what the Lord says - he who created the heavens, he is God;"

We know from John 1 that Jesus is the One who created the heavens. Believe it or not there are some people who call themselves Christians, yet they denounce Jesus as God.  Clearly this Scripture illustrates the fallacy of that doctrine.  It seems as if there is an effort in this day to water down Christianity and equate it with other religions.  If they can claim Jesus was just a prophet, then Jesus can be equated with Muhammad of the Islamic faith.

Isaiah says that the enemies of Israel will acknowledge, "Surely God is with you, and there is no other; there is no other god."

Jacob’s descendants have been told they will not seek Him in vain.

Isaiah 45:19
I have not spoken in secret, from somewhere in a land of darkness; I have not said to Jacob's descendants, 'Seek me in vain.' I, the LORD, speak the truth; I declare what is right.

Those who seek Him, find Him.

Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

Amos 5:4
This is what the LORD says to the house of Israel: "Seek me and live;

Isaiah 45 tells that the Lord says, "Before me every knee will bow; every tongue swear (or confess)."

What a day of rejoicing that will be!  This will happen in eternity.

Repetition seems to be a very common theme throughout God's Word.  We are consistently and repeatedly warned about our idols.  We were thinking about some of the idols we may have.  We certainly don't make a "god" out of silver or gold, carry it around, put it on a stand, bow down and worship that kind of idol.  God says through Isaiah that the idols are burdensome.  Maybe that would shed some light on what our idols are. Maybe we should evaluate how we spend our time by journaling a normal weekly routine.  How much of our time is spent on trivial pursuits and how much time is spent on spiritual pursuits?  What percentage of our time is spent on each?

Under the heading POWER SEEN IN RESTORATION (Isaiah 46) are these words that seem to state the common theme of the message of the prophets.

"I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come."

The prophets reminded people of the past and foretold what was yet to come.

Also under this heading God says He will summon "...a man to fulfill my purpose."
Even if it's an ungodly man.  God's purposes WILL be fulfilled.

Under the heading BABYLON WILL FALL (Isaiah 47) is a description of the false church which had devolved from the apostate church.  See also a similar description in Revelation 18 concerning Babylon and the false church.

No question in Isaiah 47 of how God feels about astrology.

Isaiah 47:12-15
Keep using your magic powers and your charms as you have always done. Maybe--just maybe-- you will frighten somebody! You have worn yourself out, asking for advice from those who study the stars and tell the future month after month. Go ask them how to be saved from what will happen. People who trust the stars are as helpless as straw in a flaming fire. No one can even keep warm, sitting by a fire that feeds only on straw. These are the fortunetellers you have done business with all of your life. But they don't know where they are going, and they can't save you. 

Under the heading REASON FOR PROPHECIES (Isaiah 48) we find the reason for the warnings of the prophets.

"For my own name's sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you..."

If we heed the warnings of the prohets, repent and return to Him, He will restore and renew us.  If my people...

Ever had a time in your life when you felt as if you were in the “furnace of affliction”? (Isaiah 48:10). Ever wonder why???

For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this.

Next time you are in the “furnace of affliction” remember it is for His sake that you are there!

Another verse concerning the creation is found in Isaiah 48.

"My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them. they all stand up together."

Jesus is God's right hand.  Once He spread out the heavens, everything there took their places on Yom (Day) 4 of creation.
